Brenda Diaz, PA

Program Director Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, Pfeiffer University

In 1986 Professor Diaz was introduced to the Physician Assistant profession, and found her vocation. She attended the City University of New York/Harlem Hospital Physician Assistant Program and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science/Physician Assistant in 1989. In 2009 she completed a Master of Science in Advanced Physician Assistant Studies with a concentration in Education and Leadership from A.T. Still University. She is an active participant in state and national Physician Assistant organizations, most recently serving as the chair of the Continuing Medical Education Committee of the Physician Assistants for Latino Health; an official caucus of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. For nearly 30 years she has served migrant farm workers and their families as a Physician Assistant in Family Medicine and Pediatrics. She is an advocate for rural health policy and community health initiatives geared toward improving health outcomes in medically underserved populations. Professor Diaz has a great passion for teaching and has educated many Physician Assistants as a clinical preceptor and professor in Family Medicine. Through Socratic teaching she refines her student’s clinical skills, emphasizes the role of culture in the practice of medicine and impresses the importance of advocacy.


Tim Lietz, MD

CEO of MEMA (Mid-Atlantic Emergency Medical Associates)

Tim Lietz is an experienced physician with a passion for serving the healthcare sector.  He is the Past President of the NC Medical board and currently serves as the President and CEO of MEMA (Mid-Atlantic Emergency Medical Associates). Prior to being President/CEO, he served on the as one of MEMA's Board of Directors for over 17 years.  He has experience as Medical Director for Presbyterian Hospital-Matthews and serving as Chairman for the Department of Emergency Medicine Southern Piedmont Region. Tim holds a Doctor of Medicine from The Ohio State University, Resident/ Chief Resident at Eastern Virginia Medical Schoolin Emergency Medicine, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Vanderbilt Univeristy.

Michelle Kerr, PA-C

Michelle Kerr is an Physician Assistant with a demonstrated history of working in the health care industry, in clinical and administrative capacities. Skilled in Public Speaking, Healthcare, Healthcare Management, teaching, mentoring, and Leadership.  Michelle has been a Physician History with over 10 years experience.  She has two Bachelor's Degrees- one from Houghton COllege in Biology and another from D'Youville College in Physicia Assistant Studies.  She also has a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the Universit of Texas Rio Grand Valley.  For over 20 year, Michelle has served as an Adjunct Faculty Professor for Rochester Insistitute of Technology.  She also has worked as a PA in roles such as Physicians Assistant, Assistant Specialty Medical Director, and (currently) Chief Advance Practice Provider.

Leslie Ware, PA-C, M.Ed, CEO

Alpha Health & Wellness, DPC

Ms. Ware is the CEO and practitioner of a direct primary care practice as well as having a virtual telehealth practice with GoMD. She is a medical consultant for MedActive Partners and Achieve Health Management. She is also Vice President of Clinicians Advocacy Group. Additionally, Ms. Ware has served as Adjunct Professor in the Dept of Physician Assistant Studies at Lenoir Rhyne University PA Program. Ms. Ware holds a Master of Education in Health Education from University of Nebraska Lincoln and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
